Forum readers who followed the earlier discussion on this topic, may be interested to learn that South Somerset District Council has this week rejected plans to construct two enormous wind turbines at Cucklington in Hardy's Vale of the Great Dairies. Refusal was recommended by the planning officer and the planning committee accepted the recommendation, regarding the proposal as having 'an unacceptable impact'.
There is of course a possibility that the wind turbine company may appeal against this decision, as happened with the Puddletown churchyard proposal; but the Blackmore Vale is safe at least for the time being.
Sincerely
John Pentney

>Hardy's Vale of the Great Dairies.
I fear I've been getting my Vales/Valleys and Dairies confused or curdled. Blackmore Vale is of course Hardy's Vale of the Little Dairies and the Frome Valley is his Valley of the Great Dairies. My apologies.
