MILGATE BIOGRAPHY - REVISED

From: Rosemarie Morgan <rosemarie.morgan@yale.edu>

Subject: The Thomas Association Collection of Early Hardy

Date: Mon.01 Mar 2004

Greetings All!

The inception of The Thomas Hardy Association Collection of Early Hardy

Criticism at Milner Library is now about to celebrate its first

anniversary. As

recent postings will have broadcast, THAEHC is now in the happy position of

having nigh on 80 books in the Collection --with grateful thanks to those of

you who have so kindly made donations.

I would dearly love to be able to bring this figure closer to 100 when I

travel

to Illinois in April for the anniversary in April. So -- so *please* hunt

through your bookshelves for titles -- see

http://www.yale.edu/hardysoc/Welcome/COLLECTION.htm

and send your contributions to any one of the names and addresses below. Your

name, as donor, will be inscribed on the list of honoured benefactors at

Milner

and your book[s] will be catalogued, possibly restored to its original good

looks, and treasured for all time!

And don't forget that the TTHA archives at

http://www.yale.edu/hardysoc/Welcome/COLLECTION.htm

do not list all possibilities. Since first posting this list we have come

across at least 10 hitherto unlisted publications. THAEHC is keen to collect

any and every publication issued during the first 100 years of Hardy's

literary

career (approx 1870-1970) - even foreign publications.

This is a unique Collection and your contributions are eagerly welcomed!

We look forward to hearing from you very soon!

Cheers,

Rosemarie.

Greetings all:

A quick note to draw your attention to the new traffic on TTHA's CDRom page:

http://www.yale.edu/hardysoc/OrderForms/CDROMS.htm

Grateful thanks to Martin Ray for his expertise and generosity in creating

the CDs for TTHA, to Shannon Rogers for burning and distributing them, and

to Birgit Plietzsch for helping me with the techie stuff (I am forever awed

by the skills and generosity of TTHA directors in making our new projects

happen).

Cheers,

Rosemarie

Greetings all --

*The Hardy Review, VI* (2003) is now back from the printers and the first 100

copies were mailed out to TTHA members this past weekend. The rest will be

mailed out as soon as possible this week. US members should have their copy

within a few days. Overseas will take longer - and I'm sorry to report that

last year a member in India didn't receive her copy for several months: please

don't hesitate to contact me if you don't receive your copy within a

reasonable

time.

Members are encouraged to give the book order form (enclosed with the

*Review*)

to their college/school librarian.

Since (for security reasons) we don't place attachments on the Forum I'm

copying the Table of Contents below ---- with many misgivings -- it will

probably distort in transfer and be unreadable but I'll give it a try!

Cheers,

Rosemarie

There was, unfortunately, as Rosemarie feared,

some distortion in the *Review* table of contents

as at least it appeared on my machine. A more

legible table of contents follows the 2003

entry in the TTHA Checklist, in the "Books and

Annuals" section.
