Date: Sun, 12 May 2002 14:18:45 -0700 Would like to get audio versions of The Woodlanders and Under the Greenwood Tree for my aged mother. Anybody know where they could be found? I don't remember seeing these two titles, but audio versions of Hardy's novels show up frequently on ebay; right now, *The Mayor of Casterbridge* is being offered, for instance--as is a miscellaneous set of readings by Alan Bates. If no one gives you more specific information, it might be worth your while to check ebay from time to time. cheers, Bill ========== Date: Sun, 12 May 2002 18:01:36 -0700 From: Dale Kramer Subject: Re: Woodlanders / Under the Greenwood Tree on tape/CD? Desmond Hawkins wrote a BBC radio play of *The Woodlanders*; and I think I've seen a notice in some publication that a tape of it was sale. Is there a BBC "bookshop"? Sorry I can't be more specific. Good hunting! Dale ========== From: rarebks@aiconnect.com Date: Sun, 12 May 2002 21:34:19 -0400 (EDT) Subject: Re: Woodlanders / Under the Greenwood Tree on tape/CD? I recently purchased both books from amazon.com on audio--last year in fact, so they are likely still available, at a rather hefty price I might add. Date: Mon, 13 May 2002 16:01:58 +0100 Yes, there is an excellent audio version produced by Cover to Cover Cassettes Ltd., P.O. Box 112, Marlborough, Wiltshire, SN8 3UG - complete and unabridged - 10 cassettes - 14 hours 25 minutes. (ISBN 1-85549-409-4 - CTC 409) Sorry, we dont seem to have a website address. The Woodlanders is read by John Rowe, and is very well done. I dont know the current price, but this series is quite expensive - probably about £40. It would make an excellent present for a Hardy-enthusiastic mother of any age! Best wishes, Helen ========== Date: Mon, 13 May 2002 17:47:25 -0400 From: Rosemarie Morgan Subject: Re: Woodlanders / Under the Greenwood Tree on tape/CD? Chuck-- have you checked on the "Members" Resources Page-- the Ottakar's Listings? Best, RM ==========
