HARDY FORUM ARCHIVE H01043 4/19/01 "CHECKLIST OF FORTHCOMING PUBLICATIONS UPDATE" ================================================================================ Date: Thu, 19 Apr 2001 08:50:12 -0400 From: Robert Schweik Subject: Checklist Listing of Forthcoming Publications In the current "Checklist of Recent Hardy Publications" maintained by the TTHA is the following citation: "Purdy, Richard Little. Thomas Hardy: A Bibliographical Study. Introduction and Supplement byCharles P.C. Pettit. London and New Castle, DE: Oak Knoll Press/St. Paul's Bibliographies, 2001. [The following information is from Charles P.C. Pettit. A reprinting of the authoritative bibliography first published in 1954. There is not yet a definite publication date, but it will probably be some time in 2001.The text is reproduced photographically from the corrected 1978 printing. The Introduction (about 4000 words) indicates some of the strengths and limitations of the bibliography; the two-part Supplement (about 5500 words) is comprised of a bibliography of writings which expand or update Purdy's information and a list of errors and supplementary information.]" One advantage provided by the "Checklist of Recent Hardy Publications" now available to TTHA members is that it lists not only works that have recently been published but also advance notice of works that are in press and soon to appear. For anyone doing research on Hardy, that kind of information can be very useful. I'd like, therefore, to ask members of the TTHA Forum who have Hardy studies *in press*--monographs, articles, reviews, CD-ROMs, etc.--to let me know by email about them so that I can include citations to them in the appropriate sections of the Checklist. As of now can include citations to works *in press* and scheduled for publication as late as any time in 2002. And many thanks to those who have already provided such information! Bob Robert Schweik schweik@fredonia.edu rschweik@localnet.com ========== Date: Sun, 22 Apr 2001 11:31:01 -0400 From: Robert Schweik Subject: Miscellaneous Earlier Publications : Dear Forum Members, My earlier posting asking for information about forthcoming publications on Hardy resulted in some very valuable responses. One message I got put me in mind of another category of information I want to ask about. It sometimes happens that an article, or review, or even a book on Hardy is not caught in the standard bibliographies-- the MLA, the MHRA's ABELL, and the annual bibliography appearing in *Victorian Studies*. Because of that, I've included in TTHA's Checklist a section called "Miscellaneous Earlier Publications," and a glance at what has appeared there so far suggests that it performs a useful service. So, I'm now posting this to ask any of you who know of publications on Hardy earlier than 2000 that have been overlooked by the bibliographies mentioned above to please send me full bibliographic particulars so that I can post that information in TTHA's Checklist. All the best! Bob Robert Schweik schweik@fredonia.edu rschweik@localnet.com ==========
